Which files can I compress?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and BMP images; PDF documents; and MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV videos.

How much smaller will my file be?

Typically 60–90% for photos, phone videos and scanned PDFs. Files that are already well compressed may shrink less; if we can't make a file smaller, you get the original back.

How it works

Images

Resized sensibly and re-encoded as WebP or JPEG. Location and camera data (EXIF) are stripped.

PDFs

Embedded photos and scans are recompressed while text stays sharp and selectable. Flatten mode goes further.

Videos

Re-encoded to H.264 MP4 at a sensible bitrate using your device's hardware encoder.

Questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in this browser tab using Canvas, WebCodecs and WebAssembly. Your files never reach ANTB or anyone else — you can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.

Why did a file barely shrink?

Some files are already tightly compressed (for example, a PDF that is mostly text, or a video exported at a low bitrate). If we can't make a file meaningfully smaller, you get the original back untouched. Try Strong, or Flatten mode for PDFs.

Which browsers are supported?

Any recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. Video compression needs WebCodecs (Chrome/Edge 94+, Safari 16.4+, Firefox 130+). The first video or PDF loads a small engine, which is then cached.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit — it depends on your device's memory. Multi-gigabyte videos work best in Chrome or Edge on a desktop.
